Schaafsma succeeds Leon Buskermolen, who will take up the position of Managing Director of Waterdrinker - also part of DFG - from January 1. Schaafsma and financial director Martin Vingerling form the management board of Hamiplant.

She has more than 20 years of management experience in consultancy and retail, a large part of which was with Ahold Delhaize in positions at Albert Heijn and Gall & Gall, among others. In her most recent role, she was responsible for managing the store operations at supermarket chain Jumbo.
